Let's admit - we all had a tartan dress or skirt when we were 5 years old! And then again when we were 15, going through a pop-punk style phase.  However, there are plenty of ways to wear red plaid that feel downright timeless. It's a must have in every closet, especially now, when festive december is just around the corner and you can have so much fun creating chic and stylish looks with it.  There are plenty of ways to wear the festive fabric without looking like a holiday postcard - style it with jeans pants, leather jacket, wool coat and white shirt or go bold as I love to do and match it with another tartan in different color. Remember - just have fun with it!

My Personal Style: Do Not Disturb Mode Or A Statement Straw Hat August 05 2019, 0 Comments

You are actually saying a lot with what you wear to people around you. By wearing oversized sunglasses and hats you are giving (consciously or subconsciously) the message that you do not want to be disturbed. And I definitely don't like to be disturbed while vacationing, so thank god that straw hats - the bigger, the better -  are a summer! Designed to protect the head from the sun and against heatstroke, straw hats have become also the ultimate decorative element of a summer uniform. Our The Lie by JPZ straw hats are custom made and here's an interesting fact: it takes approximately 5 hours to make the one I am wearing on these pictures. The bigger the brim, the more hours and people it takes to make one!

My Personal Style: Perugia/Italian Days Part 2 May 12 2019, 0 Comments

Ahhh, Perugia. Beautiful Perugia, with outstanding views, famous Perugina factory and delicious Baci chocolate. Despite the April weather in May (from sun, to rain & wind), time spent in this magnificent city truly is a food for your soul. And - mentioning the food - the best homemade pasta (pici or strangozzi), you'll find in Loft cafe and restaurant, just 20 meters away from the main square Piazza IV Novembre towards Piazza Italia. 
So - putting comfort first - for a sightseeing I always go for comfortable looks. I start with sneakers and (most often in spring and summer) sport pants and then I am building up the look with statement pieces, until the final result is CHIC. Amazing bag, jewelry and sunglasses are always a must when transforming a casual look to something extra.

Whether you call it a baker boy hat, newsboy cap or a bandit cap (I kind of like this one the most haha), the early 20th century head-topper has had a major fashion resurgence. Hollywood A-listers and runway walkers alike have adorned the hat last year and it looks like they aren't going anywhere in the near future.

And with the winter months rolling out, give your beanie a break and give baker boy hats a spin! As you may know, I am all about accessories and hats are an important part of this category. For my last trip to Riga, Latvia, I decided for a beautiful textured all black look (just take a look at this stunning dress from our FW 18/19 collection and fur trimmed black coat from FW 15/16 collection) and decided to give it a pop of color and a sprinkle of fun with indigo blue baker boy hat and a matching cross body bag. Extremely chic, but sporty, while iconic 3-stripe styles from Adidas Originals work anytime. Adidas originals mens 83-c  vintage track pants are, when styled with heels and other elegant pieces, perfect even for a busy work day. Let's face it, ladies - black is a go-to color for almost everyone and most of people stick with their classic black and white pieces on a rack while completely ignoring gorgeous colors like fuchsia, indigo blue, red, purple...
But why, why are bright, fun colors so often overlooked? Most of people are secretly terrified of styling them the wrong way or think that colors just simply don't look well on them. Every woman has her own set of color matching rules, that's normal, but most of the rules are restrictive, unfortunately involving more "don't"s than "do"s. And that's such a shameeee!!! Cause in reality, you can wear more colors together than you think. And lets face two important facts:
1. color blocking is oh so IN!
2. You can now fearlessly rock neon yellow red heels without Grandma's belt-shoe-bag rule ringing in your ear, which is sooooo OUT!
Now, these last sunny days made me wear our new Spring/Summer 2018 collection (including purple blazer dress and python shopper bag with red handles) and regarding the two rules mentioned above - well, I guess the pictures will speak for itself. Right?

Travel Diary: Romania Part 2 - Clubbing August 14 2016, 1 Comment

I’ve seen a lot of the world and visited many parties. But, no one does it better than the Romanians. I love club Loft in Bucharest. It’s the perfect fusion of amazing kitchen, bar, breath taking architecture, good music and amazing party. The concept of dining which slowly transforms to partying is simply the best for me. With this original concept Loft generates its own special energy. Like they say – to truly understand what Loft is all about, you have to be there at least once. And I promise – you won’t regret it! There, you truly start to realize that dining could happen at a spiritual level.
So, now being at Mamaia beach, very well known for amazing beach clubs, visiting Loft Mamaia was a must. They open at 3PM, serving amazing drinks and lunch and eating delicious food spontaneously turns into a party. Yes, the art is, that you barely notice transition…
And what is party without amazing friends? Meet my party animal, The Lie by JPZ Stylemaker Buta Oana Elena! I guess I am a very lucky person. Through my work as a designer, I’ve met so many amazing women that became my great source of inspiration. But some of this relationships turned to great friendships and Oana with her Otto are certainly one of them.
Visiting a beach club also demands a slightly different type of beach outfit. I love to work around a simple bikini, elevating it with silk tunic or scarf, belt, clutch and a lot of jewellery. Jewellery stack stack stack + layer layer layer was a key outfit component this time and I just loved the classic yet sexy result I achieved with it in the end. On the other hand - I loved how Oana worked around a simple white t-shirt, making her statement bra with The Lie by JPZ belt & fringed clutch the focal point of her look. Red is the color of extremes. It's the color of passionate love, seduction, violence, danger, anger, and adventure. Having said that, it is the perfect color for Saturday night out and what better way than doing it effortless cool in our luxurious all-in-one.

Yes, jumpsuits are effortless, chic and fun. But there are some good tips and tricks you should follow :

1. Finding a jumpsuit that fits your body perfectly is key to looking polished and put together. Don’t wear anything too tight or too loose.
2. Don’t loose your figure. A lot of jumpsuits have either a cloth belt or you can easily add your own belt to define your waist if the jumpsuit isn’t tailored. Emphasising your waist is a great way to give you that curvy look.
3. A jumpsuit can easily be dressed up for a formal event, when the style of the jumpsuit is appropriate. All you have to do is accessorize it to fit the party.

The cold weather has us seriously craving summer sunshine and warm weather getaways. There are different warm weather escapes - tropical, more relaxed ones, with retro, boho chic inspired looks and those in the cities and luxurious resorts, where you just can't resist throwing on some sexy but sophisticated looks. Let’s be honest, my dear fashionistas, the sun is what draws you to the destination, but the resort wear is what really makes it feel extra special, right? For me, my beloved Las Vegas is always a good idea and it's a kind of destination, where you can really go for overdressed looks 24:7, with no hard feelings, even when sipping cocktails by gorgeous Venetian pool. It’s not a big secret, that I love fashion icons from the 1950’s. And it's no secret, how much I love contrasts in style. Having said that, my NYE outfit choice was definitely inspired by stated above. 
Lately, at every corner you turn, someone is wrapped up in one. In every city across the globe, magazines state that you need one. And bloggers, fashionistas or models all own one!
Here at The Lie by JPZ we love fur stoles and we used it wrapped around beautiful red wool dress and fixed to it with a statement belt already in our FW 2013/2014 collection When In Budapest With Tristan Karol. make sure you elevate your look during the chilly months with one of these bad boys.

My Personal Style: Checking In From St. Maarten November 16 2015, 4 Comments

Even though I love winter and layering looks that come with it, winter weather is no match for these sunny relaxing escapes. A super busy month is behind me, sleeping only four hours per night and even this was too much for all the work that had to be done, and so it was time for some rest. Time to come back again to my beloved destination and get some rest on gorgeous Caribbean island of St. Maarten! And when it gets down to warm-weather getaways, there comes the time for long flowy dresses, straw bags, statement jewellery pieces in bold vivid colours and turbans!! It's funny you see, that in the summer vacations, I always go for more relaxing looks, probably, because I am already tired of fever. But when I change cold weather for warm in the winter, well then this tropical heat gives me the energy to dress up in beautiful long gowns for the late afternoon and evening city strolls. Maybe also because I know I won't be able to wear them for another 6 months. I think that for this particular look I've got inspired by the jungle and all the beautiful tropical vegetation. Yes, here at The Lie by JPZ we absolutely love chill weather, because this is when you get the chance to wear all kinds of hats.
There are many different style hats that will keep your head warm throughout the winter months, but nothing does the trick like a gorgeous fur hat, known also as Lara's hat from the iconic Dr. Zhivago movie. These beauties will keep you as warm as can be despite the cold temperatures and strong wind. My Personal Style: Travel Outfit - Fall Pattern Mixing & Matching vol. 1 October 24 2015, 5 Comments

It's been quite hectic lately, I am travelling a lot and already got the feeling that I am basically living in my suitcases. But, I love to travel, so I shouldn't complain much.
When it comes to clothing for long hour flights, I definitely prefer comfort, which can also be done in a very trendy way. However, when I fly to a business meeting, I still like to look chic. Being in a fashion business I can afford more relaxed versions of "business" look, or I should better say much more relaxed version.
What I love about fall is that there comes a whole wide spectrum of patterns that are simply not supposed to be worn in the summer, such as check pattern, which I absolutely adore. And also animal prints work much better in fall. So, this time, I went for a lot of patterns at a time - as you see, I paired stripes with check, leopard and even orange zebra pattern! Yes, I admit, I love the pattern drama!
This time, the perfect coat for my business trip to Bucharest became our black wool mid length statement coat, trimmed with black fur from our current FALL WINTER 2015/2016 collection From Russia With Love. It's just so chic, isn't it?
And yes, when travelling, I just love to wear one big bag, where I can put all the necessary stuff (and also those not so necessary, to be honest), such as our Basic Minimalistic Shopper and a smaller one, Where I keep my phone, flight ticket and passport within the reach of hand (because of course, in the big bag, you just simply can not find anything among all that stuff). You know, why wear only one bag, when you can wear two or even the third one, attached to your tote (that is of course, if you do not travel with the low cost airline company, where only one cabin bag is permitted on board – when did the travelling became so stressful???).

Valley of Fire is located near Las Vegas in state of Nevada and it derives its name from red sandstone formations, formed from great shifting sand dunes during the age of dinosaurs, 150 million years ago. Complex uplifting and faulting of the region, followed by extensive erosion, have created the beautiful, super photogenic landscape. And so it was a must to make some beautiful editorial pictures there. Blue sky and red rocks were just calling for a white contrast, such as this chic ensemble of stone embellished jacket and long mermaid skirt.

Well, the key is in accessorizing. My Personal Style: Statement Belt With Peplum Top June 23 2015, 5 Comments

When in doubt, go for a classic black peplum top end emphasize it even more with a statement belt. It's a classic combo, that always work and looks chic with elegant pants and pencil skirts or jeans. Either way, with  peplum you are ready to rock your busy day.
Peplum is a short overskirt or a ruffle attached around the waistline and it was first introduced by Dior in 1947. Then this shape was forgotten for a couple of decades and now we are witnessing the return of this structured and feminine detail already for a couple of years now. 
Here at The Lie by JPZ we absolutely adore a dramatic waist and peplums are here to celebrate femininity accentuating utterly womanly shape of an hourglass. Peplums are absolutely flattering to any body type if worn right. Both straight and curvy lines can benefit from wearing peplums by letting them either create the illusion of shape, balance out the proportions, or enhance the curves that are already there.
