My Personal Style: Monday Pastels March 09 2015, 5 Comments

On this sunny Monday, when spring is in the air, it's all about pastels. For a soft, yet bold look, I love to pair a few different pastel colours together, but if you prefer to stay on the safe side, then choose one color and stick with it throughout your outfit. The fact is, whether you like buying into trends or prefer to stick with the basics, you just have to add pastel to your spring wardrobe, since soft hues are a classic spring staple and timeless enough so you can proudly wear them year after year. And, when styled right, they're also super trendy, sexy, feminine and chic. I went for this oversized knit sweater and gave it a shape with The Lie by JPZ waist belt in soft pink leather, over the knee suede boots and The Lie by JPZ white lara's hat, pink hand muff and gorgeous python shoulder & cross body clutch. And the wall behind truly is the best complement to the outfit, right?

Yes, today is Valentine's day and I guess you should wear something red, right? I went for eternal classic - combination of red and beautiful pepita pattern and I played with accessories - a lot of them, actually (but then, I always do). I am in love with winter time especially because of a wide range accessories you can wear and play with, when putting together most warm, yet extremely chic outfit. Before I established and launched my brand, I worked as a stylist for many Slovenian magazines, such as Playboy, Story, Bella Donna, Obrazi, Eva and many others. And the working period I loved the most, was always December, since all the covers, editorials and interview spreads have this festive thematic, which I absolutely adore, since Christmas is also my favourite holiday. Now, since I work as a designer, my styling is mostly desired by those celebrities, who love and wear The Lie by JPZ products, so they often want me to style them in my design for certain photoshootings. My Personal Style: From Russia With Love January 06 2015, 8 Comments

Yes, there is something with me and Russia. I draw inspiration from Russia almost every year in my FALL/WINTER collections as well as in my personal style. I fell in love with Russia already long time ago, when I was still a professional ballet dancer. And, the item, that I love the most, is definitely iconic lara's hat (as you may already noticed, right?). I often get confused for a Russian girl. Especially in the winter time, probably because of lara's hat and other fur products that I love to use in my outfits. I will never forget a guy on the Covent Garden market in London, which screamed behind me "beautiful Masha from Russia", and I guess I love to be a Russian girl from time to time, even if just for a while, until I make it clear I come from a beautiful small country in central Europe, called Slovenia. 
My favorite period of the year is definitely winter, when I can play around and experiment with layering (which I absolutely love), interesting coats, gloves, fur collars, hand muffs, fur hats, beanies, normal hats, scarfs and boots. A whole new world of options opens up in the winter time, giving plenty of space for creativity. It is all about the outerwear you pick which then becomes your statement of the season. This winter I have a huge crush on long coats and over the knee boots, so here are two outfits with the same coat and different accessories, both inspired by the beautiful Russia... Snow just makes everything so magical and even though Christmas wasn't white, yesterday I finally woke up to this gorgeous winter fairytale. Snowy nights are my absolute favs, perfect for chic winter outfits, inspired by gorgeous character of Lara from iconic Doctor Zhivago movie. So, Lara's hat is of course an absolute must and there is another iconic accessory, that I absolutely adore this winter - hand muff. So, on a yesterday's snowy walk in the city, I went for black over the knee boots, skirt, turtleneck and skirt, paired with coat and hand muff in pastel pink hue and white fur hat. And, of course, the most exiting piece was our The Lie by JPZ white leopard bag, which elevated and added that powerful twist to the entire look.

My Personal Style: Black & White Winter City Stroll December 26 2014, 9 Comments

There is definitely something with black&white outfits, since they always work perfectly in transition from day to night, which comes in very handy in a modern, quick way of life. I love to wear white in the wintertime, especially, because most of people wear it during the summer. And since I am a really freezing person, The lie by JPZ long black fur vest is always a cool choice to keep me warm, yet extremely chic. By now, I am sure that you have already prepared your outfits for tonight, but why shouldn't we feel festive the whole day? Bring on the Christmas spirit while you are still busy running around doing errands and trying to finish all that last details before Christmas dinner with your family! I am sure we all agree that red color is an absolute must, but instead of mixing it with classical white, I suggest you dare your outfit and you pick something that will make you really stand out this year! I love playing mix and match with different textures, patterns and styles because it just elevates the outfit and gives it that special dimension, that makes everyone go wow! This year, I have decided to mix the red color with check patterned scarf and leopard bag, just to give my festive outfit a new special twist! So, be bold, dare your style and as the sun sets, you can be sure you'll stand out in the crowd with such combination, even before you get home and change to your Christmas dinner dress...

The Lie by JPZ Evening Gown For Miss Earth World Final 2014 - Beauty, YOU Just Simply CAN'T RESIST November 20 2014, 9 Comments

This time, we proudly represent to you The Lie by JPZ one of a kind evening gown for Slovenian contestant Patricia Peklar, Miss Earth Slovenia 2014, for a dazzling appearance on her final performance in Philippines – Miss Earth World 2014 Coronation night on 29^th of November.
A dramatic gown can definitely add some magic to each her step on the final stage and that is why I aimed to create a scene stealing gown, that catches the eye and sets our beautiful Miss Earth Slovenia, Patricia Peklar, apart from the crowd. Beautiful gown in fresh white color blends beautifully with her shape and simple mermaid line with open back enables the discreet, asymmetrical stone embellishment to really shine in all its glory. Long, flowing silk draped shoulder trains, inspired by the Greco-Roman style, elevate the entire look to a whole different level, creating a light, summery, yet chic and glamorous feeling, fluttering behind her while walking down the stage. Paired with The Lie by JPZ golden plated earrings and bracelets, this entire look is just the combination of contrasts, I wanted to achieve: classic yet modern, simple yet chic, discreet yet noticeable, romantic yet edgy. 
And Patricia is just the kind of beauty, who can pulls this off…

My Personal Style: On My Way To Sunny LA! November 13 2014, 7 Comments

My short trip to sunny LA from fabulous Las Vegas was great, as always. And the weather, oh the weather... Just thinking about it makes me feel warm, despite the winter we are having in Slovenia. I absolutely loved the 4 hour drive in Mustang cabriolet through the beautiful and extremely photogenic desert. It is such a cliche, but such a traditional thing for me, that I do it in the same way every time. I adore old images of 50’s and 60’s fashion icons, driving in red mustang cabriolet from 1964, wearing cat eye sunglasses and beautiful silk scarf to protect their hair, head and neck, and that’s where I got inspiration for my outfit. Classic and chic black lace midi skirt paired with sporty white cropped top to make a contrast with a touch of a modern edge -  these are just the kind of combinations I adore!

When creating a new collection and precise vision of The Lie by JPZ woman for the season, I love taking inspiration from the past to create the present, and the future. This time was no different. I draw inspiration from the 1950’s and 1960’s, and beside other characteristics, lines and accessories in the collection, that reflect the era, very important part of The Lie by JPZ FW 14/15 collection are also hand muffs. So yes, hand muff should be on top of every girl’s winter wish list.
You might think hand muffs faded out in the early 1900’s, and they probably did, but they are definitely back here at The Lie by JPZ in all of their glory and we absolutely love them! Incorporate them as essential piece of your winter wardrobe and play with them, creating classic and romantic retro inspired outfits. My Personal Style: Cold Enough For Lara's Hat November 05 2014, 4 Comments

Gray winter days started and together with them winter outfits, which I absolutely love! If to be honest, I really can't wait for the temperature to drop, so I can start to wear lara's hats, which really turn every look to entirely different level, almost surreal, like a person just stepped out of a winter fairytale. That's the beauty of seasons - you can adjust your style to them and draw your inspiration from famous movies, stories, fairytales or images, that are typical for a specific season...

My Personal Style: Summer Beach Style = Accessories August 28 2014, 4 Comments

I like to be a bit of an outsider and stay home, working really hard, when everybody leaves on holiday and I love to relax when everybody is stressing out. That is why my main summer vacation always comes at the end of August.

The holiday vibe is amazing. Going out each night until 2am or fall asleep without any bad feeling at already 9pm, beautiful tanned skin and salt on your body - this is the luxury that comes together with my summer holiday. For me nothing’s more enjoyable during hot summer days than feeling absolutely free and lost. Early escapes to the beach, late night dinners and cocktails without any timeline, endless naps and talks with family and friends. Phone on a silent mode is another thing I love about holiday. And, while being so relaxed, I just love to get out all those accessories, swimsuits, jeans shorts, turbans, big or small hats, clutches and straw bags and creating my summer beach style. What I love about it is the fact, that my outfits can work glamorous on the beach, but also in the city during the day and some of them even on a late night dinners, when switching flip-flops to high heel sandals.

My summer beach style differs on locations. So in Dalmatia, while on the boat, discovering beautiful islands, I love the outfits with a little boho vibe, very casual and beach ready but at the same time with a needed touch of edginess and chic. When in Miami, Rimini, Cannes or Monte Carlo, I love to go for more glamorous and elegant beach style. Talking about jewellery on the go, chunky pieces as well as most tiny and elegant ones, and of course, also body jewellery, are definetly a must. Without it, I really feel naked.

Also, I love to wear belts with chic pareos, kimonos, waisted playsiuts, kaftans or tunics. Chic belt can really elevate the entire look and with it you can nicely accentuate your stature. When packing, I never forget about straw bags, which are just perfect for the beach, travel or city. And, when I do not need to take a lot of stuff with me, I always go for clutches. It would be an absolute crime to wear them only in the evenings since they look extremely chic even on the beach. Playing with different hats and sunglasses (my absolute favorites are cat-eye and aviators) is also something I never miss when creating my beach outfit. And combining bikini tops and bottoms from different sets is something that I find really amusing.Oh and nothing, really nothing is more fun on the seaside, than wearing marine and sailors inspired clothes – I just love it!

So, my dear fashionistas, be creative also with your summer beach outfits, dare to be different, dare to create your personal statement style and become fashion icon – even on the beach!

My Personal Style: It Is All About Accessories August 13 2014, 3 Comments

When it comes down to my personal style, it really is all about accessorizing. My main policy is to keep it simple with the clothes and complicated with accessories. Whether a statement piece of jewellery, belt, bag, sunglasses or amazing heels, good accessory will always make you look pulled together.
My basic style is elegant - youthful and modern, always with a touch of a modern edge and mixed with other different styles – from rock to retro. I also like to wear comfortable and laid back clothing yet always with an elegant twist.
I believe that you can look fabulous, regardless of how much you spend. The most important thing is to invest in eternal, interesting and statement pieces, which highlight your wardrobe.
Clothing has to fit well with my surroundings. As my social settings change or my mood shifts, I want to be able to adapt my style to fit my needs at the time. Rather than attempting to develop different styles for different occasions, I work on finding ways to use my personal style as a common thread in any outfit I put together. Therefore I believe it is crucial to have basic personal style, to keep things simple and never, I mean really never, forget about accessories.
